Sozzals
Hi folks Today I’m joined by the one and only Grighton, our resident Warlock and friendly Russian! Grighton is from the Feenix era of Pyran where he has since been regailling us with drunken song, naked pictures of himself holding a tiny wooden mace and hilarious stories. Thank you for agreeing to this interview! How are you today?

Grighton
More or less great! I’m in the middle of moving, finally getting outta shitty hostel :3 Paired with a colleague from work and rented a 2-room flat, just 30-40min from out office.

I’m also moving from a laptop, that overheats from wc3 and back to my good ol’ battlestation Finally having 1080p iz gon be sooo gud >:3

Grighton’s Warlock Lair on our Creativerse server.

Sozzals
One of the things, I’m saddest about from having to make the switch to a new website, was that we lost those tiny mace pictures during the move. Do you still have them?

Grighton
Nope, I’m mourning lost pics myself. The tinymace is lost somewhere in the sands of time as well. I do remember buying the mace in some park in Kiev, Ukraine, but I doubt I’m going there again, at least this year. Though i have a slight feeling I’ve posted macepics in my dead FetLife profile.

Sozzals
You joined us back on Feenix – if i recall correctly, there were a couple of Russian guilds on that server. Why did you choose to join Pyran over joining a Russian-speaking guild?

Grighton
I did try joining. I can certainly remember being in one. “Being” meaning i’ve been with them till it was our first raidtime: me and my irl-mate were kicked, because guild needed a healer and they’ve invited one, that we knew – he’s stolen loot from my friend earlier that week and we were openly unfriendly with him. Was kind of a “what the actual fuck?!” situation, since they’ve picked one ninjalooter over two other players. Overall most russian-speaking guys i’ve played with (esp on int. servers) were either toxic, jerks or both. I remember joing russian guild on another server one time. I was kicked on my 1st or 2nd day, cause, apparently, i was too friendly and talkative: vice-admin (or some other high-ranking player) thought, that i was trying to seize power in guild.

Sozzals
I never imagined anyone could be kicked from a guild for being too friendly oO Well, I for one am glad you picked Pyran. What do you remember about the early days?

Grighton
Welcome to rusguilds, lol, random is the new black. I remember being extra-shy on voice in the beginning (also i remember singing USSR anthem for my voicechat interview). I remember always slacking on guild meetings when it was time to vote newcomers. And spreadsheets, god, i still have nightmares with spreadsheets (they’re actually wet nightmares, i kinda like spreadsheets). Oh! Also i remember, that IT FEELS LIKE I’M WEARING…

Sozzals
NOTHING AT ALL, NOTHING AT ALL, NOTHING AT ALL What do you remember your warlock colleagues – janice, deathstare, chubbs…?

Grighton
I certainly remember all those names. I also remember Pidgy being second-in-command in warlockburg. Chubbs was our warlockmaster, i kinda remember him. And I remember i was talking with Deathstare from time to time on our forum. Other than that – nope. My memory is kinda really bad, but when it comes to people – it’s even worse. Janice, Deathstare, Prutser, if you’re reading this – sorry, let’s become acquainted again, I’m sure you were cool gusy!

Sozzals
Janice was called Sanice – he was a norweigan stoner dude iirc… anyway…. What is your most memorable moment in all of pyran?

Grighton
Oh, he’s of our blood then! 😀 My most memorable? Fuck me if i know :—–D There’re quite few moments i remember (running in Ogrimmar in cosplay, for example). Killing twins in AQ, may be? Or decapitating my laptop during one of our pyran-challenge nights?

Sozzals
When (and how) did you first realise you were a gamer?

Grighton
Depending on what “gamer” means. I was playing since i was but a little whelpling, had a Dendy (a chinese close of NES), then SNES, PS1 and at the age of 10 – finally a PC, which kinda sealed my fate with playing games all of my teen years, as well as becoming a n00by computer techinican. But i’ve never tried becoming any sorta competitive player, let alone participating in any cups. Always been a shitty gamer :_D

Sozzals
I would just say a “gamer” is someone who considers video gaming to be a part of their lifestyle. What life lessons has gaming taught you over the years?

Grighton
I think by the time i was 8 (got my PS1 around that time) i was playing videogames most of my free time. You can consider it as being all of my lifestyle 😛 Life lessons? That’s a tough one, but I’ll try to think of some: 1) I’m free to rob people, kill anyone i find nasty and be a jerk to everybody, as long as i consider myself a hero 2) killing is actually fun 3) doing drugs gives advantages 4) I’m a unique snowflake and surely my life will be magical and happy, as whole world resolves around me, cause I’m the center of the universe

Sozzals
Have you ever been discriminated against because you were a Russian gamer?

Grighton
As far as my memory goes: nope, nevah. But me being rus is not a common knowledge, i kinda try to conceal it, when I’m not playing solo. Rusgamers have bad reputation, and getting same bad rep in advance, before you actually do smth bad, is counterproductive (especially if you ARE going to be toxic, jerk and ninja )

Sozzals
Let’s talk a bit about you IRL. What do you do for work?

Grighton
As in: what should i be doing or what i really do when I’m at work? You know, I’m something of a tester myself. But most of my time at work is spent on chatting, reading new memes, watching funny videos and lurking for small tiddy cat girls Still productive enough to test, what 4-6 programmers code.

Sozzals
We have quite a few people who work with code in some form or another – i guess, that’s to be expected from a gaming community: there is a strong correlation between gamers and coding Tell me about the people in your life – who do you spend most of your time with?

Grighton
I don’t think it’s only coding, any PC-oriented peoples (network administrators, computer technicians) have higher-then-average chance to be gamers. For me it was PC-gaming, that made me obsessed with computers. I spend most of my time with my gf. Almost all of my free time, actually, as i’ve lost contacts with my old friends and mates and i’m not really open and talkative irl nowadays, which hinders making new contacts.

Sozzals
Where is your favorite place to be in all the world?

Grighton
Why, it’s GOO-LAG of course! (no idea, actually, I’m not sure there’s such a heaven, that’d be my most favorite)

Sozzals
Most dudes go with something like “between my girlfriend’s legs”. Mine is snuggled up with my family – my jimbles and my nanga :3 How is the new apartment coming along? Does it feel like home yet?

Grighton
That’s 2lewd4me, i have high moral standards, y’know! I’m a lazy person, apartment isn’t coming along at all – can’t get my ass up to do things and be productive. Almost finished salvaging balcony for useful things amongst all the trash and junk. Gotta hurry, if i wanna make it into a warmy 2nd room before the temperature drops below comfortable.
But it feels like home nonetheless.

Crashie was being lazy AF so I made him take over the rest of the interview.

culacant
ok tell me like a cool story for the interview

Grighton
i was away for some several months, ’cause i was leading my bear cavalry armed with AK (with vodka-propelled nuclear bullets) against dark forces of justice, freedom and other smelly bad things my aim was sure, my tactics flawless, but alas, my crusade was all for naught, as the forces of world occupation government requested help from their masters – alien ninja-frogs from uranus those frogs, knowing that i was coming for their heads for sure, reseted the timeline and sealed me in this mortal shell, resulting in a long coma i have to exist now as a mortal amongst the mortals, broken and powerless, unable to ascend back

culacant
So Grighton, Sozzals asked you about the tiny mace earlier. As someone who is usually only interested in average-sized maces and above, I still need to know all about it, Start from the bottom. (haha get it?)

Grighton
So, Sexy Tiny Mace © I still kinda more or less remember, where and when it was bought – I was somewhere around 15y.o., it was some sorta school trip to Ukraine (so ja, my iconic warlock weap is import # S W A G ), I’ve seen it in a booth in some park and just knew: i should get it (to sow terror amongst my foolish classmates). It was some kinda love at first sight, whatever that means. And that’s kinda all the story I can tell you about tinymace. Never used it with girlfriends: I think it was enchanted with some sorta Fear, cause i could clearly see the terror in grrls eyes, when I’ve tried to insert this spiky lovestick into them. It usually ended with no-sexy-time. Pyraneers first seen tinymacey when we were still on feeneexees, but i’m not sure about exact time or reason why i’ve posted it. Tinymacey was kinda lost during one of my move-ins/move-outs.

culacant
RIP tiny mace, you will be missed
I heard you watch a lot of vietnamese animus, tell us something about them.

Grighton
They’re one of the best ways to forget about your miserable meaningless life and watch colourful beautiful nonexistent anthropomorphic creatures lead their meaningful and interesting lifes; while also learning those fine universal truths: 1) flat is justice 2) octopuses are sexy 3) 2D > 3D 4) you’ll never meet and/or meat your waifu I prefer older ones over fresh ongoings, mainly because ongoing = hype. You have a chance to find smth good in contemporary series, but it’s better to wait for hype to die down and check, whether people still find this particular show good and interesting. But you still gotta filter opinions, cause underaged weeaboos tend to overpraise shows, thay’ve watched first.
